At Smith and Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.About the roleWe are seeking a Supply Chain Optimization Specialist to lead process improvement efforts across Latin America and Canada.
This role is responsible for analyzing end-to-end supply chain processes, identifying operational gaps, and driving standardization initiatives that enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the region.The specialist ensures day-to-day adherence to established operating procedures, collects and analyzes operational data, and contributes to projects that promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Acting as a resource for local teams, this role provides the tools,
training, and support needed to consistently meet performance and compliance requirements.This position is critical to regional supply chain success, leveraging data to uncover opportunities, driving strategic actions, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure optimal efficiency.
The role aims to elevate service levels while maintaining appropriate cost structures, ensuring that process optimization efforts support both operational responsiveness and financial sustainability.What will you be doing?
Key priorities include:Conduct in-depth analysis of supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.Design and implement standardization initiatives across countries and business units.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Planning, Commercial, Customer Service, etc.) to align on process improvements.Develop and track KPIs to measure the impact of optimization efforts.Support regional transformation projects and contribute to strategic planning.Document and communication best practices to ensure adoption and sustainability.Support regional projects and provide insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.Act as a subject matter expert in process dynamics within the surgical service channel.What will you need to be successful?
Successful candidates would need the following:A bachelor's degree in a related Business field or equivalent experience.Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a related field, e.g. Operations, Logistics, Business Analyst, Business Consultant, Project Management, customer service.Demonstrated expertise in Project and Change ManagementDemonstrated financial acumen to evaluate inputs, monitor budget performance, and identify cost optimization opportunities.Fluency English, Portuguese is a plus.Strong interpersonal skills essential to effectively interact and earn credibility with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting inventory management throughout the network.Experience in healthcare or surgical service environments.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives independently.You.
