Key Responsibilities
- Data management: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of CMDB data, including managing Configuration Item (CI) relationships and performing regular audits.
- Process integration: Align the CMDB with ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.
- Discovery and mapping: Implement and maintain Discovery and Service Mapping to automate the population of the CMDB and map dependencies between CIs.
- Governance and standards: Define and implement CMDB policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality and compliance.
- Reporting: Develop dashboards, reports, and service insights to provide visibility into the CMDB and health service.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve CMDB-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and suggest improvements along with operations team.
- Collaboration: Work with IT and business stakeholders to define service strategies, ensure data accuracy, and support business outcomes.
- Integration: Good understanding of various methods of integration to feed right records to CMDB to increase adoption & accuracy.
- Experience in IRE rules & muti source CMDB is required.
- Lead CMDB/ITOM strategy and implementation, facilitating seamless access to information and continuous improvement.
- Increase CMDB adoption within the platform to provide right data insights for users.
- Analyze and optimize processes for improved service delivery and business performance.
- Enable HAM with right & quality set of data for their process.
- Setup roadmap for ITOM & Automation modules on SN platform.
- Support HAM process as key advisor on standardizing & improving their process.
- Enable and maintain service graph (SGS) connector-based integrations to CMDB like MS SCCM, MS Intune, Tenable, etc,
- Enable data validation process to increase the data quality in CMDB.
- Improve health metrics on the CMDB health dashboard to maintain a healthy CMDB for the organization.
- Defining CI class and mapping rules for various Cis to categorize them in a consumable format.
- Maintain CMDB to have all the possible & correct relationship between Cis to visualize their dependencies.
Required Qualifications And Experience
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Management, Computer Science, Digital Experience, or a closely related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years in large enterprise CMDB management, with a proven track record of leading strategic planning, process optimization, and health improvement of CMDB on ServiceNow platform.
- ServiceNow Expertise: Extensive, hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, including deep knowledge of its architecture, core modules, integration capabilities, and best practices for configuration management and asset management.
- Methodologies: Strong familiarity with ITIL framework, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices, with demonstrated ability to apply these frameworks to drive service improvements and business outcomes.
- Certifications: ITIL V4 Foundation is required. ServiceNow CSA CIS-Data Foundations,
& CIS – ITSM will add advantages.
- Additional Skills: Experience & certification in ITAM/HAM will be preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to leverage data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance user experience and business performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience engaging, aligning, and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions to support digital strategies and governance.
- Leadership: Demonstrated competency in leading and empowering cross-functional teams to deliver targeted, user-focused service improvements.
