Position: Systems Engineer, Design and Analysis (IRAD)

As a Systems Engineer Senior, you will be part of the Ground Systems Development (GSD) Systems Engineering (SE) team on the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the GSD Systems Engineering Design and Analysis Manager in architectural design of THAAD Fire Control and Communications (TFCC) Force Operations (FO) or Engagement Operations (EO).

This is a
Systems Engineer
position performing Modeling, Simulation and Analysis activities as a member of the Integrated Air And Missile Defense Systems of Systems Integration team in Huntsville, Alabama. You'll work within a small
Internal Research and Development (IRAD)
team performing rapid prototype functional integration, algorithm development and implementation using C/C++ in an agile process environment.
Primary responsibilities include:
Applying Missile Defense Sensor Management, Battle Management and Fire Control domain knowledge to contribute to the design and prototype of an integrated Systems of Systems Missile Defense solution
Providing independent contributions and leadership of junior staff toward design and implementation of future THAAD Weapons System architectures and algorithms within the THAAD Fire Control high-fidelity computer simulation model (BMSIM)
Conducting analysis to assess THAAD Fire Control and weapon system performance

Typically has 5 - 10 years
of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college
Experience in Computer Simulation Modeling
Proven experience in the use of the C coding language
Experience in Missile Defense Sensor Management, Battle Management, and Fire Control domains
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings

Active Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:
Experience with the Data Distribution System software interfacing tool
Experience with/knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or model-based engineering
Experience working in Agile Development Environment
Experience in the use of GIT software configuration management tool
