As a Senior Network Consulting Engineer focused on Service Provider, you will deliver advanced consulting and solution validation services for next-generation SP customers. This includes design validation, implementation support, lab testing, and troubleshooting of complex SP infrastructures built on Cisco IOS-XR platforms (NCS5500, ASR9K, 8000 Series, CRS). The role requires a combination of deep technical expertise in SP routing technologies, customer-facing consulting skills, and the ability to lead validation engagements end-to-end — from requirements analysis through test plan execution and final reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage with Service Provider customers and Cisco stakeholders on the planning and execution of solution validation engagements.
- Support next-generation SP customers to accelerate adoption of new platforms, designs, and technologies.
- Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results.
- Validate new design solutions against customer requirements and identify gaps with engineering and delivery teams.
- Develop and integrate new SP technologies into lab environments.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams on future initiatives and business growth opportunities.
- Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation (test plans, results, recommendations, design documentation).
- Provide knowledge transfer and continuous technical enablement to customers and internal teams.

Core Technical Skills

Cisco IOS-XR and IOS

- Strong hands-on expertise with IOS-XR operations, configuration, and troubleshooting.




- Familiarity with Cisco-specific features such as LPTS, VoQ concepts, and EEM.
- Deep expertise with NCS5500, ASR9000, CRS, and 8000 Series.
- Hardware/software disaggregation (Whitebox + NOS) familiarity is a plus.

Service Provider Technologies

- Solid command of MPLS, L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, IPv6, QoS, BFD, uRPF, Route Reflectors, and Link Aggregation.
- L1/L2/L3 troubleshooting in production SP environments.

Testing & Validation Tools

- Hands-on experience with IXIA / IxNetwork / IxLoad and/or Spirent test platforms.
- Familiarity with NGPF (NextGen Protocol Framework) desirable.

Automation & Scripting

- Working knowledge of Python, Tcl, Bash, and EEM scripting.
- OpenStack fundamentals familiarity is a plus.

Experience / Certifications

- Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering with 4-5+ years of related experience, OR Master's degree with 2-3+ years.
- Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles (TAC, consulting, or solution architecture).
- CCNP Service Provider or CCNP Enterprise (R&S;) required. CCIE is a plus.

Language Requirements

- Advanced English proficiency is mandatory. The role requires facilitating customer-facing meetings and engaging effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership in English.
