About the role
- The Blasting Engineer provides engineering support in the management, storage, handling, and use of explosives on site, through control and auditing of regulatory compliance with explosives-related requirements in accordance with company policies.

What you will be doing
- Verify the blast design for each shot to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, that no danger arises when the blast is initiated.- Ensure that explosives are stored,



handled, and used in a manner that does not pose any risk to the health and safety of people on or off site, and immediately escalate to project managers anything that could negatively affect this.- The Blasting Engineer determines the hazard zone in consultation with the Project Manager and police authorities.- Ensure that an appropriate written blast specification is prepared for each blast and approved by the Project Manager.- Ensure that blasting rules related to the storage, handling, and use of explosives are followed.- Ensure that the equipment and accessories used for blasting are suitable and safe, and that site conditions are in accordance with the blast specifications before work with explosives begins.- Ensure that unsafe equipment and accessories are taken out of use immediately.- Ensure that only authorized persons carry out work with explosives and that they are authorized in writing by
