Responsibilities

- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a regional payroll team, providing mentorship and oversight to ensure high standards of operational excellence and compliance.
- Regional Operations: Oversee end‑to‑end payroll processes in all active APAC countries and other assigned jurisdictions, including daily adjustments, tax processing, and accurate statutory remittances.
- Scalable Strategy: As the APAC region and other international markets evolve, design and implement localized workflows that allow team members to take ownership of regional execution while maintaining global consistency.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide internal payroll expertise and strategic guidance to cross‑functional partners, including customer‑facing teams, International Finance, Legal, and Operations.
- Integral Reconciliation: Ensure accurate quarterly and year‑end processing, including tax reconciliations across all international jurisdictions where we operate.
- Compliance Oversight: Stay current on evolving payroll‑related laws and regulations across the APAC region and beyond to ensure the organization remains fully compliant.
- Product Innovation: Act as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to automate and scale payroll products around your operational expertise.
- Audit & Controls: Support internal control and compliance efforts, including process testing, documentation updates, and remediation as needed.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- 6+ years of experience in international payroll operations, specifically within the EOR, PEO, or HR Tech space.
- 2+ years of experience managing a regional or international payroll team.




- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and statutory requirements across multiple APAC countries (e.g., Singapore, Australia, India, etc.) and experience with International Contractor compliance.
- Proven experience leveraging and optimizing payroll software and global platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to perform complex data analysis and financial modeling.
- Excellent client‑facing and communication skills, with the ability to address executive‑level inquiries and concerns.
- Strong interpersonal and team‑building skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse group of payroll professionals across different time zones.
- Strong Plus: Experience building or advising on the development of tech products around payroll operations.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPP, CIPP, or regional equivalents) would be a significant advantage.
- GPMI (Global Payroll Management Institute) certification.
- CIPP/A (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Asia).
- Regional memberships such as APA (Australian Payroll Association) or equivalent local bodies.

Strategic Oversight – exercises extreme attention to detail while maintaining a high‑level view of regional trends and operational health. Regional Payroll Authority – robust foundational knowledge in APAC payroll, with a broad understanding of international contractor compliance. Adaptability – the ability to adjust your approach or leadership style in response to rapid changes in the external regulatory environment or internal business needs. Consultative Leadership – focuses on building relationships, understanding complex problems, and developing long‑term solutions through active listening and cross‑functional collaboration. Standardization & Reporting – drives the creation of accurate records, reporting frameworks, and documented processes to ensure regional scalability.

Salary Range

The base wage range for this position is targeted at 3,300,000 INR - 4,000,000 INR per year.
