Job Description: Position: Senior SDET (Contract) Work Location: Remote (Colombia), working in CST hours The Byte Platform organization is expanding as we optimize our digital ordering channels and advance technology innovations that create competitive advantages for our restaurants worldwide.
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Senior SDET) to play a critical role in building and scaling quality across the platform.
This role requires strong technical depth in test automation and API testing, with the ability to assume performance testing responsibilities as needed based on team and platform priorities.
The successful candidate will balance hands-on execution with leadership, mentoring, and the ability to influence quality practices across teams.
The adecuado candidate has hands-on experience with the Yum QE tool stack, is comfortable operating in a cloud-native microservices environment, and demonstrates accountability beyond execution by driving improvements, standards, and adoption of best practices across automation and performance testing disciplines.
This position requires strong coding capability and the ability to develop and maintain automation code in one or more modern languages (e.G., JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Kotlin, Rust, or similar).
Key Responsibilities: * Partner with teams across the platform to identify key user flows for end-to-end (E2E) testing * Design and implement cross-platform E2E automated tests covering back-end services, front-end applications (web and mobile),



and asynchronous data flows * Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks by resolving issues and implementing new capabilities * Evaluate and apply tools and approaches that improve day-to-day test automation effectiveness (e.G., mock services, CI/CD integration, and AI-assisted tooling) Required Qualifications: * Minimum Qualifications: At least 5 years of professional experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development * Demonstrated experience as a Senior SDET in modern software development environments * Strong programming skills and the ability to develop and maintain automation code in one or more languages (e.G., JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Kotlin, Rust, or similar);hands-on expertise with Cypress or Playwright is required * Solid experience in API and GraphQL testing, including schema validation, queries, mutations, and test data setup * Experience designing and building test automation projects for complex systems from scratch * Experience creating supporting test tools beyond frameworks (mocks, data dashboards, data generators, etc.) * Experience building mobile tests using Appium or other mobile automation frameworks is a plus * Experience designing and executing performance tests using k6 is a plus * Ability to contribute to technical initiatives and influence quality practices beyond your immediate team * Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills * Actively contribute to QE initiatives, improvements, and shared standards across teams or PODs * Support and coach other QEs through test design reviews, code feedback, and test strategy discussions Comments for Suppliers:
