We're on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity.We realize the greatest contributions to the company can come from anywhere in the organization, and we know that the next one could be yours!Whats unique about this job (What you'll do)Lead and guide Regulatory Supervisors (Non-Foods) while serving as a key technical and trade compliance advisor to the Buying Department, ensuring all products meet regulatory and trade requirements efficiently and effectively.Key ResponsabilitiesOversee and support Regulatory Supervisors (Non-Foods) in reviewing and approving items.Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports to maintain an engaged, productive, and high-performing team.Proactively identify, respond to, and resolve regulatory issues with PriceSmart items in a timely manner.Collaborate with the Associate Director, Regulatory to review upcoming regulations and establish new processes and implementation plans.Advise Buyers and vendors on testing requirements to ensure clarity, proper testing, and successful certification attainment.Notify Buyers and vendors of upcoming regulatory changes affecting products or processes.Monitor and follow up on the execution of internal regulatory processes by product.Identify gaps and opportunities for new regulatory procedures, guidelines, and SOPs; participate in their development and implementation.Audit and review the work of Regulatory Supervisors and Regulatory Leads to ensure compliance with internal processes, guidelines,
and regulatory requirements.Maintain and update Regulatory Product Guidelines and SOPs as regulations or business needs evolve.Develop new Regulatory Product Guidelines and SOPs in response to new or changing regulations in PriceSmart's marketplace.Provide education and training to the Buying Department on trade regulations, internal processes, and compliance requirements.Provide vendor training on internal processes, trade regulations, and regulatory affairs affecting PriceSmart's marketplace.Work with the Buying team to ensure compliance with trade and regulatory requirements by adhering to established internal processes.Review items against specific regulations and ensure non-compliant products are blocked from purchase or shipment.Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are)Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree required; Electrical Engineering,International Business, or related field preferred.6–8 years of experience in regulatory affairs or international trade for non-food products, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.Knowledge and experience in international trade compliance and regulatory requirements.Experience with Certificates of Conformity (e.G., RETILAP, RETIE in Colombia) is a plus.AS400 or similar enterprise system experience is a plus.Languages & Technical SkillsBilingual (fluent in Spanish and English)
