We are looking for a dynamic and passionate educator to join our Science department and teach Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) within our IB Diploma Programme.
You will be responsible for delivering the IB curriculum, mentoring students through their Internal Assessments and Extended Essays, and inspiring a culture of genuine scientific inquiry.
The adecuado candidate fosters critical thinking and a deep connection to real-world scientific challenges.
Key responsibilities
Plan and deliver Biology and ESS lessons aligned with the current IB curriculum guides.
Design, administer, and assess Internal Assessments (IAs) following IBO criteria.
Mentor students through the Extended Essay process in science-related topics.
Prepare students for IB external examinations through rigorous academic support.
Guide students through independent scientific investigations and fieldwork.
Uphold and model laboratory safety standards at all times.
Collaborate in interdisciplinary projects, CAS activities, and whole-school initiatives.
Attend IB-required professional development workshops and training.




Maintain records of planning, student progress, and reporting.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and the academic coordination team.
Requirements
Degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
At least 2 years of teaching experience in similar roles; IB Biology and/or ESS experience strongly preferred.
IB Level 1 training in Biology and/or ESS (or willingness to obtain it).
C1 English proficiency — subjects may be taught in English.
Expert in inquiry-based learning methodologies and laboratory safety protocols.
Familiarity with IB assessment criteria and internal moderation processes.
Proficiency in digital educational platforms and tools.
Inquiry-based and student-centered pedagogy.
Critical thinking and reflective practice.
Interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication.
Strong mentorship skills for IA and EE guidance.
Alignment with the IB learner profile and environmental awareness.
