- Within the area of operations the Regional Office, the UNVMC Intern will assist in a support capacity, with the issue of the implementation of the peace agreement in urban contexts: Conducting research: Contribute to improving understanding of how the 2016 Peace Agreement is being implemented in urban contexts, including Bogota, Ibague and Neiva. Gathers, selects and analyses information regarding peace implementation in urban settings. Identify best practices at national and international level. Monitoring and reporting: Monitor and evaluate initiatives that have been implemented in urban settings referring to the previsions of the 2016 Peace Agreement. Prepare reports and identify opportunities to promote a better implementation of the Peace Agreement in urban contexts. Engagement and networking: Assist in liaising with local authorities, former combatants,



victims’ association and representatives from implementing agencies in undertaking interviews and collecting information regarding urban implementation. Envisioned Project or Activity: In order to carry out this project, the UNVMC intern will assist in revising the status and activities related to the implementation of the Peace Agreement in urban settings, specially in Bogota, Ibague and Neiva. He/she will work to identify best practices, at international and national level, and highlight opportunities to bring on board stakeholders and enhance peace implementation in the cities. Information from local authorities, implementing agencies, UN entities, academy and civil society is essential to understand what has been carried out. Thus, the intern will be expected to carry out interviews and may need to carry out field missions to obtain information from other cities such as Ibague and Neiva.
