Summary We are looking for a SeniorData Governance Specialist to support the execution and day-to-daydelivery of data governance initiatives within a financial servicesorganization. This role is highly hands-on and business-facing. Youwill work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, andtechnical teams to understand the current data landscape, includingexisting data infrastructure, resources and products, identifygaps, and help deliver concrete governance outcomes—such asenriched data catalogs, defined ownership, and actionable dataquality improvements. This is not a purely strategic role. Theideal candidate is someone who can roll up their sleeves, activelycontribute to deliverables using industry-standard tools to performexploration, orchestration and other data management tasks,



andtranslate conversations with the business into clear actions,documentation, and execution. Education Bachelor’s or Master’sdegree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science,Business Analytics, or a related field. Professional Experience 5+years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, DataManagement, or related roles. Proven hands-on experience supportingdata governance execution in regulated environments (financialservices, banking, insurance, or similar). Experience workingdirectly with business stakeholders to understand data needs,challenges, and priorities. Key Responsibilities Support theexecution of data management and governance initiatives acrossmultiple business functions. Work directly with businessstakeholders to understand current data landscapes, challenges, andneeds. Capture outcomes from stakeholder meetings and translatethem into clear action plans and governance deliverables. Identifyand prioritize high-impact, low-complexity opportunities to deliverimmediate value and demonstrate the tangible benefits of datagovernance to stakeholders. Contribute to the enrichment andmaintenance of the enterprise data catalog (definitions, ownership,metadata). Assist with defining, implementing, and monitoring dataquality rules in collaboration with Data Quality and Engineeringteams. Support data lineage and metadata documentation efforts.Help coordinate data governance activities across domains, ensuringfollow-through and execution.



Document governance processes,decisions, definitions, and artifacts clearly and consistently.Participate in business-facing sessions and working meetings,serving as a bridge between business and data teams. Supportregulatory and audit-related data governance requirements throughproper documentation and controls. Required Technical Skills Strongunderstanding of data governance concepts, data ownership,stewardship, and metadata. Hands-on experience with data catalogsand lineage tools (e.G., Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC, AzurePurview). Solid SQL skills to support data investigation,validation, and profiling. Familiarity with data quality conceptsand collaboration with DQ teams. Understanding of ETL/ELT processesand data pipelines. Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, or similartools to track governance tasks and issues. Soft Skills AdvancedEnglish proficiency (written and verbal). Strong attention todetail and documentation skills. Comfortable interacting withbusiness stakeholders and facilitating working sessions. Highlyorganized, able to manage multiple parallel tasks and followthrough on deliverables. Practical, execution-oriented mindset.Nice to Have Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure,GCP).
