GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor and PMO Lead, this position is responsible for operating all Hayssen and Triangle packaging equipment in a safe and responsible manner following the Packaging Machine Operator SOP.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Operate all Hayssen and Triangle packaging equipment
Work around machinery and equipment
Perform forming tube changeovers (7", 8", 9", 10", 2lbs, 3lbs, and 5lbs)
Operate Yamato and Ishida scales
Maintain the area clean
Perform extensive problem solving
Complete paperwork duties
Perform quality checks, product changeover, and re-supplying of film
Adhere to all policies, practices, and SOPs related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)
Comply with Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable
Complete other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
3-5 years experience operating packaging machinery
Troubleshooting knowledge of machinery
Basic math skills
Ability to read and write legibly
Excellent communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a cold environment with an average temperature of 34°F.
Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present.




Work surfaces and floors may be wet.
Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and 20 lbs overhead as job demands.
Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts, are in operation in the immediate area.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required
3-5 years experience operating packaging machinery
