The Role
As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be a driving force behind our client growth, identifying the right companies, building genuine relationships, and showing them a smarter way to hire. This isn’t a numbers game. We’re not looking for someone who fires off 200 cold emails a day and hopes for the best.
We want someone who’s curious, commercially sharp, and genuinely energised by the idea of changing an industry. Someone who does their homework, has real conversations, and wins clients through credibility rather than pressure.
What You’ll Do Win New Business
- Research and identify target companies across sectors like energy, infrastructure, finance, legal, and construction
- Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality prospects through outbound outreach, networking, and events
- Present Select TMS’s embedded recruitment model in a way that genuinely resonates with client challenges
- Own the full sales cycle from first contact through to signed agreement
Build Lasting Relationships
- Develop trusted, long‑term partnerships with clients, not transactional ones
- Understand hiring challenges deeply enough to become a genuine strategic advisor
- Stay close to clients to anticipate future needs before they become urgent
- Work closely with our recruitment delivery team to ensure every client is well served
- Feed client insight back into how we develop our offering and positioning
- Contribute to business strategy and help shape how we grow
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ years in business development, sales, or recruitment within a staffing or professional services environment
- A proven track record of generating leads, building pipelines, and closing deals
- Someone who communicates clearly, listens well, and builds trust quickly
- Comfortable working independently and managing a full pipeline without being micromanaged
- Sector knowledge or a network across energy, infrastructure, finance, or related industries is a real advantage
- Resilient. This is a competitive environment and rejection is part of the job, what matters is how you respond to it
