We're hiring a **Social Video Editor** to create short-form content for our podcast brand **Breaking and Building Leaders** and our company brand **Knwn Local** on a full-time, remote basis. We're scaling from one to two episodes per week, expanding our short-form presence, and need someone who can transform long-form gold into scroll-stopping clips.

**Role**:
As a Social Video Editor focused on podcast and brand content, you will transform long-form podcast episodes and company content into high-impact short-form clips that drive engagement, build authority, and grow our audience across YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and LinkedIn. You will work directly under our Content Lead alongside a high-performing media team, identifying the moments that matter and crafting them into scroll-stopping content. This role combines creative ownership with data-driven iteration—turning conversations into clips that perform.

**Responsibilities**:
**Content Creation & Editing**
- Edit 15-25 short-form videos per week from podcast episodes and long-form content, maintaining consistent 48-72 hour turnaround times
- Identify the highest-performing moments and craft them into must-watch clips
- Add subtitles, captions, and motion graphics to improve accessibility and engagement
- Keep project files and asset management well-organized and up-to-date
- Maintain brand consistency across all content while keeping it fresh and platform-native

**Performance & Optimization**
- Analyze performance data to understand what's working and iterate accordingly (data collection, retention graphs, and post-mortem reviews for continuous improvement)
- Adapt editing style based on platform-specific best practices (YouTube Shorts vs. Reels vs. TikTok)
- Stay ahead of short-form trends and experiment with new formats, transitions, and storytelling techniques




- Conduct competitor analysis and trend research to stay ahead of platform algorithms and audience preferences

**Collaboration & Communication**
- Communicate daily, promptly, and often. Report progress so we can maintain a seamless workflow
- Work closely with the content team to execute a cohesive cross-platform strategy
- Communicate proactively—flag blockers early, ask smart questions, share insights
- Respond to Slack messages within 4 hours during working hours; participate in weekly team syncs

**Requirements**:
**Technical Skills**
- Expert proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci, or equivalent editing software
- Strong eye for pacing, storytelling, and emotional beats
- Experience with subtitles, captions, and basic motion graphics
- Deep understanding of what performs on each platform (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn)

**Experience**
- 2+ years editing short-form content for social media
- Proven track record of driving engagement—show us clips that performed
- Bonus: Experience with podcast/interview content, leadership/business content, or real estate

**Mindset**
- Data-driven: You interpret analytics to refine your editing choices
- Speed with quality: Comfortable with fast turnaround without sacrificing craft
- Ownership mentality: You treat projects like they're yours, not just assigned tasks
- Curious and coachable: You ask "why did that work?" and actually implement feedback

**Results**:
**Within 30 Days**:

- Onboarded into our systems (Slack, Notion, file management)
- Producing 5-10 clips per week at brand standard
- First-approval rate of 70%+ (edits need mínimal revision)

**Within 60 Days**:

- Producing 10-15 clips per week at full capacity
- Maintain first-approval rate of 85%+ (edits need mínimal revision)
