We're evolving from traditional 2D drafting workflows into more advanced 3D modeling and visualization, helping clients better understand their future home and strengthening our design-to-build execution.

The **Draftsperson/Production Technologist**is a production-focused technical role responsible for turning 2D drawings into coordinated 3D models, producing construction-ready and permit-ready drawing packages, ensuring compliance with the British Columbia Building Code (Part 9 residential), and delivering accurate material take-offs. This role supports design, estimating, sales, and construction teams and directly impacts construction accuracy, estimating precision, and sales performance.

**Note**:This role may begin part-time and scale to full-time as project volume increases.

**Key Responsibilities**

**3D modeling + visualization**
- Convert 2D AutoCAD/CAD drawings into fully coordinated 3D models
- Produce high-quality exterior and interior renderings for client presentations and marketing
- Support visual presentation layouts (including interior elements/placements as needed)

**Construction drawing packages**
- Complete and refine full construction drawing sets and prepare permit-ready packages
- Maintain revision control and version tracking

**Code coordination (BC Building Code - Part 9 Residential)**




- Ensure drawings meet requirements for fire separation, egress, stairs, guards, and energy efficiency

**Material take-offs + estimating support**
- Produce detailed material take-offs (framing, sheathing, insulation, drywall, siding, finishes)
- Support estimating with quantity verification, reconciliation, and take-off accuracy

**Cross-discipline integration**
- Coordinate structural, mechanical, truss, and envelope integration

**Qualifications**
- 3 to 5 or more years of residential drafting/3D modeling experience (Revit strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to convert 2D CAD drawings into coordinated 3D models
- Strong rendering skills for client-facing visuals
- Ability to produce permit-ready construction drawing packages
- Detail-driven, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Pacific Time collaboration overlap preferred

- Accuracy and completeness of construction drawing packages
- Fewer field revisions due to drawing errors
- Faster turnaround from concept to permit-ready drawings
- Accurate, reliable material take-offs
- 3D visuals that enhance sales confidence and client decision-making

**Pay and Benefits**
- Independent contractor (long-term engagement)
- Pay: $16 to $22 USD per hour (based on experience)
