**Sr Product Designer**

As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead the design of strategic products and features and hold responsibility over how they work, look and feel. You possess advanced design sensibility, creativity, and the ability to translate complex requirements and user needs into impactful digital solutions. You will spearhead the design of innovative products tailored for our core audiences, ensuring that every experience is intuitive and deeply human-centered.
This position works out of our Alameda, CA location.
What you’ll do
- Architect, Design, and Deliver User-Centered Solutions: Lead the end-to-end design of products and features, from conceptualization to final implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- Develop and Maintain Scalable Design Systems: Build, refine, and enforce scalable design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across platforms.
- Define and Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with researchers, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration of design into product development processes.
- Shape and Evolve Product Experiences: Create user experiences that address customer needs, anticipate market trends, and enhance overall usability and engagement.
- Solve Design and Usability Challenges: Identify and address key design and technology challenges, iterating solutions based on user feedback and testing insights.
- Lead Accessibility Efforts: Ensure designs meet WCAG standards and adhere to accessibility and regulatory requirements for inclusive user experiences.
- Support Performance, Uptime, and Scalability: Partner with engineering teams to ensure design systems and interfaces are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Document Design Specifications: Produce and maintain comprehensive design documentation, ensuring traceability of decisions and alignment with development processes.
- Provide Strategic Design Leadership: Lead the definition of the design vision and strategy, ensuring it aligns with broader organizational goals and product roadmaps.
- Mentor and Develop Design Talent: Guide junior and mid-level designers, offering feedback and fostering skill growth to enhance the overall team’s design quality and impact.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to internal and external guidelines, including quality management systems and regulatory requirements such as GDPR or FDA standards (as applicable).
- Support Agile Development and Delivery: Collaborate within Agile workflows,
providing iterative design solutions and adapting quickly to evolving project needs.
- Lead Executive Design Reviews: Present design strategies, concepts, and solutions to senior management and executive stakeholders, aligning on vision and ensuring strategic buy-in.
- Collaborate on Product Roadmaps and Feature Prioritization: Partner with product and engineering leadership to influence and align design priorities with the overall product and business roadmaps.
- Lead High-Impact Design Projects: Take ownership of complex, high-visibility projects, delivering innovative solutions that set new standards for user experience and business outcomes.
- Evaluate and Optimize Design Tools and Workflows: Assess and implement design tools, technologies, and workflows that improve efficiency and elevate the quality of the team’s work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Software Design, UX Design, or related field with minimum of 8 years relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Figma (advanced features like auto-layout and components), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects), and prototyping tools
- Expertise in cross-platform design, ensuring cohesive experiences across web, iOS, and Android environments, with an understanding of platform-specific guidelines (e.g., Material Design, Human Interface Guidelines).
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining scalable design systems, leveraging design tokens for consistency across platforms, and scaling component libraries using Storybook
