Accountant is responsible for managing revenue recording and reconciling to enable accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of financial statements and other financial data.
This individual will ensure that team targets and KPIs are met and/or exceeded and will support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position will not only assist with current revenue accounting operations but also assist with future M&A; integrations.
The position also has responsibility for providing information support for and review of business analysis,



as well as for first level interaction with other GBSC and business unit teams in the course of issue identification and resolution.RolePrepare monthly journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAPMonitor accounting for agreements to ensure compliance with MasterCard's policies, procedures and related accounting literaturePrepare balance sheet account reconciliationsAdheres to the monthly and year end close schedules and perform monthly reportingProvides insight into revenue accounting activity through preparation of management reporting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc analysisPerforms ongoing documentation and procedures maintenance as requiredWorks to continuously improve expense processes; recognizes opportunities for improvement and develops actions plans to implement themRepresents GBSC on cross-functional project teams in support of initiatives with impact to the expense accounting process, identifies issues and develops recommendations for resolution,



monitoring and reporting on progressProvides revenue customer service support to help resolve issues in a timely mannerDrives front line interaction with other GBSC teams and internal business units in support of identification and resolution of processing issues.Monitor and report on the overall health of the Balance Sheet through administration of our Blackline account reconciliation system.Participates in SOX testing and internal and external audits and respond to requests timely and appropriatelyAll About YouBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA and/or MBA preferredSystems experience with Oracle and Blackline, Reconciliation toolsPrior related work experience, with revenue accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge of revenue accounting and management processes and systems;Experience in shared services/internal service delivery role a plusExperience as a team member on project development/implementation teams a plusSolid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and proceduresStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsCustomer service skills (communication with customers and process partners)Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills (Excel and Word preferred)Corporate Security ResponsibilityAll activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices;Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;Report any suspected information security violation or breach, andComplete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines.
