ScotiaTech, Scotiabank's new and innovative Technology hub in Bogota, is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to join the Global Fraud Technology team.
Purpose
The Global Fraud Technology team develops and manages innovative products designed to support the ever-changing threat landscape, partnering with Fraud Business and key Technology Partners across Scotiabank to drive general technology delivery. The role involves building Fraud detection and prevention products.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern microservices and technology solutions that support core business and regulatory functions, following best‑practice architectural and coding standards.
- Analyze business requirements and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to research, design, and document scalable technical solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Write, modify, integrate, and test software code to implement new features and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
- Perform functional, integration,



and regression testing for new software releases to validate stability and prevent impacts on the current codebase.
- Optimize system performance by monitoring services, identifying issues, and implementing fixes to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency in production environments.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve application defects and provide production support as needed to maintain uninterrupted business operations.
- Implement best practices in code quality, testing, security, logging, and performance optimization.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives) and collaborate closely with developers, QA, analysts, and product teams to deliver high‑quality software.

Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Business, Information Sciences, or related field.
- Java developer with 5+ years of experience in requirements analysis, cloud backend & front‑end design,
