Position Purpose

The Mathematics Teacher shall be responsible for planning and delivering effective mathematics instruction aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards while fostering academic growth, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Under the supervision of the Building Principal, the teacher will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the educational development of all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, and implements mathematics curriculum and instructional programs consistent with district goals, Board of Education policies, and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
- Provides instruction in mathematics concepts and skills, including but not limited to arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and other related subject areas appropriate to the assigned grade level.
- Develops lesson plans, instructional materials,



and assessments that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and real‑world application of mathematical concepts.
- Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of students, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
- Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, educational technology, and evidence‑based practices to maximize student achievement.
- Establishes and maintains a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
- Monitors and evaluates student progress through formal and informal assessments and uses data to guide instructional decisions and interventions.
