Terms of Reference
- Substantial experience in the field of child protection prevention and response with refugees in both camp and out-of-camp settings is essential.
- Strong knowledge and experience with child protection case management standards and interview techniques with children and families is essential.
- Experience with empowerment of women and girls, gender, child protection, mental health, counselling and working with survivors, humanitarian and development issues is essential.
- Knowledge of UNHCR child protection policies and tools including the UNHCR Best Interests Procedures Guidelines, and interagency child protection Minimum Standards, Guiding Principles and GBV case management standards is desirable.
- Knowledge of local child protection laws, policies and services is desirable.




- Experience of inter-agency protection coordination with a wide range of stakeholders, including other UN agencies and non-governmental organizations is desirable.
- Experience with supporting and monitoring the delivery of protection activities by implementing partners, including coaching partner staff to ensure case management standards are upheld.
- Ability to work effectively with government authorities, in particular local police, FPJD, MOSD, Sharia Court, and security officials, to advocate, influence, and promote positive protection outcomes for refugees.
- Skilled in drafting reports and providing clear and concise written analysis on protection needs.
- High degree of flexibility to respond quickly to unplanned needs in a collaborative manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work in a multi-functional team under sometimes challenging conditions.
