The Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the end‑to‑end accounting and reporting for US and statutory financial statements for a defined set of legal entities in Colombia. This role includes identification and mitigation of strategic tax risks, establishing processes to ensure sustainable compliance with local tax regulations, and proactively managing accounting processes and routines to ensure compliance with US GAAP and local accounting regulations as well as company accounting policies. Additionally, the Accounting Supervisor handles budget planning and supports the Colombia Controller by providing insights and financial advice that allow informed business decisions.
This position is part of Colombia’s Finance department located in Bogotá and reports to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct registration of all financial transactions.
- Prepare the financial statements according to the local regulations applicable in Colombia.
- Key contact for the External Audit Process.
- Prepare and review the local tax returns (IVA/ICA/Retenfuente).
- Submit local information to government authorities (Super Sociedades, DANE, DIAN).
- Validate accounting entries for payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare the accounts reconciliations of the BS and upload them in Blackline.
- Prepare and review the working papers for month‑end related to the BS and P&L.;
- Collaborate in forecast update process for Life Sciences business unit.
- Supervise, review, and validate the finance team activities related to AP, AR, Treasury, and others.
- Support the Finance manager on special projects as required.
Essential Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent.
- Proven experience with attending and leading external audits.
- Big Four experience is a differential.
- Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and US GAAP.
- Understanding of tax legislation.
- Strong presentation and communication skills (oral and written).
- Advanced Excel knowledge.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Leadership and team building skills.
- Organized and able to handle multiple tasks within deadlines; good interpersonal relationships, initiative, logical thinking, dynamic.
