Role Purpose
The purpose of the ITAM Analyst role is to support the day‑to‑day execution of IT Asset Management by collecting, maintaining, and validating asset data, identifying risks and discrepancies, and ensuring that ITAM processes are followed consistently.
The role translates defined ITAM policies and processes into accurate operational data that supports compliance, cost control, and decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Normalization & Remediation: Use Flexera to identify and fix data discrepancies. You will ensure hardware models, serial numbers, and technical specifications are correctly categorized and mapped.
- Discovery Health Monitoring: Monitor the health of Flexera agents and beacons across the integral estate. Identify "blind spots" where hardware is not reporting and work with local IT to restore visibility.
- Regional Support: Act as the first point of contact for regional ITAM representatives. Provide them with technical guidance on how to correctly update asset statuses and use the integral toolset.
- CMDB Alignment:
Perform regular reconciliations between Flexera and our ITSM (EasyVista) to ensure hardware lifecycle states (e.g., In Stock, In Repair, Retired) are synchronized.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Create technical reports on asset health, hardware age, and discovery coverage to help the Manager identify risks and areas for improvement.
- Hardware Lifecycle Support: Assist in the technical "offboarding" of equipment, ensuring that retired assets are properly decommissioned in the system and data is wiped/verified according to policy.
Technical Profile
- Flexera Experience: 2+ years of hands‑on experience using Flexera One or FlexNet Manager (specifically the Hardware/ITAM modules).
- Technical Troubleshooting: Strong ability to investigate why a device is missing from discovery tools (checking logs, network connectivity, or agent status).
