Role Summary

The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining relationships with carriers to ensure timely and cost‑effective coverage of assigned loads. The role focuses on selling freight at competitive rates while meeting margin targets and ensuring operational compliance and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Source, negotiate, and secure carriers to cover minimum 10 loads daily, making sure we have a positive margin of at least 22% on each load.
- Being accountable for your loads. You booked it, it’s your load.
- Create and maintain relationships with carriers and drivers.
- Negotiate competitive rates aligned with company margin objectives.
- Proactively contact carriers.
- Verify carrier credentials and compliance (MC, insurance, authority, W9, etc.).
- Confirm driver availability, equipment type, and pickup/delivery details.
- Send and confirm Rate Confirmations (Ratecons).
- Ensure carriers comply with tracking requirements (tracking links, apps, ELD, etc.).
- Follow up on sold loads through pickup and delivery when required.




- Proactively manage and resolve pre‑pickup issues (no‑shows, delays, equipment changes).
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date information in the TMS.
- Meet and exceed productivity, coverage, margin, and compliance with KPIs.
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers, Pricing, and Track & Trace teams.
- Build long‑term relationships with reliable and high‑performing carriers.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience of 2 years in logistics, freight brokerage, or carrier sales (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. transportation market (FTL / LTL).
- Proven negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Intermediate to advanced English (required for carrier communication).
