Senior Mechanical DesignerHatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Designer / Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Medellín.
The role is responsible for the production of mechanical equipment layouts, models and drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical Engineer, and for ensuring design excellence across our metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy projects.ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the production of mechanical equipment layouts, models and drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical EngineerHave sound knowledge in the design of project specific mechanical components or systems, as well as fundamental knowledge of the plant processesUnderstand the owner/user requirements and the project missionAssist in interpreting the plant PFDs, P&IDs;, and plant battery limits and constraintsCoordinate the work of draftspersons and senior draftspersons in the preparation of contract drawings, record keeping and monitoringPerform conceptual layout work as well as check drawings prior to releaseDevelop design details of standard design elementsPrepare 3D equipment modeling and 3D designGenerate 2D drawings from the 3D model as required by the projectPerform the design and drafting of mechanical plant models using applicable standards, project technical specifications and enterprise or project proceduresExecute designs following the mechanical and layout design criteria developedUse vendor data,
