JOB OBJECTIVE
The Senior HR Advisor – Colombia leads compliant, high-quality HR delivery for the Colombia entity and may support other LatAm operations.
This role manages the full employee lifecycle and serves as the key liaison with the payroll provider, ensuring compliance with Colombian law and alignment with global HR standards.
You will oversee HR operations, payroll coordination, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, and employee relations while partnering with Global HR and LatAm leadership.
Success requires strong judgment, organization, and the ability to balance strategic and hands‐on work.
This is a 1-year fixed‐term hire with the possibility of an extension based on confirmed funding




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as primary contact for payroll provider
Ensure accurate, timely payroll, benefits, and statutory filings
Review contracts, payroll reports, and compliance documentation
Align provider practices with Generation HR standards
Provide first‐line HR support on performance, conduct, and employee relations
Ensure compliance with Colombian law and global policies
Coach managers on people management
Advise on labor risks with legal and payroll partners
Maintain up‐to‐date knowledge of labor laws
Implement global policies locally
Identify and close policy gaps
Support compliance reviews and audits
Payroll, Benefits & Statutory
Validate payroll inputs/outputs and approvals
Ensure taxes, filings, and contributions are completed on time
Onboarding & Offboarding
Coordinate contracts and onboarding documentation
Deliver HR induction and support probation processes
Manage offboarding and exit processes
HR Systems & Data
Maintain accurate HRIS records
Support BambooHR and payroll systems
Generate metrics for reporting
Digital Tools & Process Improvement
Use approved AI/tools to improve HR processes
Identify automation opportunities
Ensure ethical and secure use of tools




Recruitment Support
Coordinate hiring with Talent Acquisition and leadership
Ensure compliant recruitment processes
Support interview scheduling and offers
HR Administration
Manage employee inquiries and HR inbox
Track HR workflows and documentation
Support salary benchmarking and pay equity
Review compensation structures
Recommend benefits improvements
Monitor internal equity
Support wellbeing and safeguarding initiatives
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Promote work‐life balance and burnout prevention
Employee Relations & Compliance
Support issue resolution and escalation processes
Partner with legal and payroll providers on disputesGuide managers on sensitive issues
Build proactive manager relationships
Contractor Management
Ensure contractor compliance with legal standards
Manage onboarding/offboarding and records
Track contracts, renewals, and risks
Global HR Support
Implement global HR processes (performance, engagement, L&D;, workforce planning)
Support and train managers on these processes
ATTRIBUTES
HR Generalist experience in Colombia
Experience managing HR vendors/payroll providers
Strong knowledge of Colombian labor law
Fluent Spanish; advanced English
Nonprofit or multi-country experience preferred
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities
Analytical and detail-oriented
High integrity and confidentiality
