This role is for academic leaders who prefer designing systems over analyzing them from the outside.
You must be deeply knowledgeable in your discipline to recognize high-caliber learning, disciplined enough to translate those standards into rubrics and AI-driven quality controls, and sufficiently pragmatic to respond to imperfect data quickly.
Student progress matters to you, and you accept accountability for those results.
2 Hour Learning pursues an objective that most education and software companies avoid.
The model includes no teachers, no traditional textbooks, and no safety net of conventional pedagogy.
AI forms the foundation.
In your capacity, you will apply it to create and refine learning materials, architect interventions, oversee quality, and advance the platform.
The tempo resembles high-stakes technology, consulting, or finance more than traditional education, with the reward being direct responsibility for subject-level student outcomes spanning multiple campuses.
You will operate a function.
Your work will include building AI-enhanced learning ecosystem improvements, deploying targeted responses to student performance data, producing evidence‐backed decision documentation, and leading a team measured by MAP, AP, SAT, and ISEE performance.
Collaboration with product, engineering, and data science teams will define platform priorities.
This position suits those who instinctively turn to AI, conduct their own analyses, execute through uncertainty, and take full ownership of results.
It will frustrate individuals who favor consensus-driven timelines, minimal accountability, or reliance on established methods.
You will serve as a central figure within the academic leadership team, exercising meaningful authority over your subject's performance and the evolution of the broader learning infrastructure.
Your colleagues will depend on your standards,

your expertise, and your capacity to translate student data into action.
If that prospect energizes rather than overwhelms you, this role was designed for you.
What You Will Be Doing
Learning Ecosystem Enhancements — AI-generated refinements to K–12 subject‐specific learning experiences, including content, adaptive pathways, and student interventions, shaped by student feedback, analytics, assessments, and coaching observations.
Data-Driven Academic Interventions — Focused intervention strategies for underperforming students or groups, informed by MAP, AP, SAT, ISEE, and comparable performance metrics.
Student Performance Decision Records — Documented, repeatable, evidence-supported decisions outlining actions to improve student performance, backed by dashboards, analytics, tickets, surveys, coaching interactions, and assessment results.
Learning Ecosystem Improvement Specs — Actionable specifications for product, engineering, and data science teams, containing problem definitions, supporting evidence, anticipated student outcomes, and acceptance criteria.
What You Won't Be Doing
Wrapping traditional educational models in AI language.
This is not about digitizing classroom teaching – we are redesigning learning from first principles.
Working with data in a vacuum.
Regular interaction with K-12 students is expected, treating their feedback as critical input from our customers.
Seeking broad agreement before advancing new ideas.

You will advocate for an ambitious vision and mobilize support through data-backed outcomes.
Relying on established practices.
You will have latitude to test new strategies for motivation, assessment, and pedagogy.
Viewing AI as a risk to education.
In this environment, you will leverage AI as a powerful instrument to transform learning, not a challenge to be managed.
Vice President Learning Key Responsibilities
Lead innovation in AI-powered, teacher-independent education to achieve outstanding student outcomes across multiple campus locations.
Combine data analysis with consistent student interaction to refine our learning ecosystem continuously, measured through AP exam results and MAP assessment growth.
Basic Requirements
Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in academic or EdTech leadership roles, with direct people management responsibility (hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, termination decisions)
Demonstrated experience using AI tools as part of day-to-day professional workflows, and willingness to rely on AI extensively to improve academic and operational outcomes.
Strong understanding of learning science principles, such as Cognitive Load Theory and Mayer's Multimedia Principles, and data-driven educational approaches.
How We Work
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position.
The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year.
The payment period is weekly.
