Team OverviewThe Retail Risk Analytics Engineering (RRAE) team partners with General Risk Management (GRM), Regulatory Capital, IFRS9 Provisioning, and Enterprise Stress Testing teams to deliver regulatory and non-regulatory initiatives.Role SummaryWe are seeking a Business Analyst Associate to contribute in investigation and testing efforts in a fast-paced environment.
You will connect with and understand multiple business lines requirements, ensuring reliable, accurate, and maintainable processes.Key ResponsibilitiesChampions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Daily basis: Assist the Product Owner/Project Manager by conducting research and analysis, and accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of highly complex, multi‐faced problems to meet the needs of the supported Line of Business.
This may involve participation in rapid prototyping, with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis, that provides interim deliverables until a final production solution is created.Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and providing user documentation and user training.Data management: Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements.
Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources:
business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems.Support: Support the team on day-to-day activities such as coordinating stakeholders, managing and updating project management artifacts.
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporated into day‐to‐day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Integral Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‐to‐day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Champions a high‐performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.QualificationsStrong analytical skills with a problem‐solving mindset.2+ years experience working with analysis and design of new features.Working knowledge of project management lifecycles and methodologies (including Agile).
Excellent written and spoken English to clearly communicate complex issues and interface with all levels of the organization with ease.Bilingual English/Spanish language skills (B2 English level).
Preferred SkillsExperience with cloud‐native technologies.EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.WorkplaceHybrid model: primarily remote with mandatory in‐office collaboration 8 times monthly (Bogota).
