The Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Senior Data Architect to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS).
In this role, you'll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives.
You'll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.As a Senior Data Architect, you will be proficient in architecting complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to each customer's needs.
You'll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies to AWS.You'll be a trusted advisor, guiding customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, leading implementation, ensuring best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks throughout projects.
The engagements focus on Data and Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and batch/real‐time data processing.This is a customer‐facing role that may require travel to client locations up to 50% of the time.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement data architectures (Data Lake, Lake House, Data Mesh, etc.) for customers,



including short on‐site projects demonstrating AWS Data services to support distributed computing solutions that span private and public clouds.Deliver on‐site technical assessments with partners and customers, including pre‐sales visits, understanding requirements, and creating packaged Data & Analytics service offerings.Engage with business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data‐driven enterprise and promote code reuse through new artifacts.Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre‐sales, training, and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Redshift.Travel to client locations as required for professional services engagements, up to 50% of the time.Basic Qualifications5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation.5+ years of database experience (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).5+ years delivering cloud projects or cloud‐based solutions.Able to communicate effectively in English in technical and business settings.Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of external or internal customer‐facing experience managing complex and large‐scale projects.Proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation).
