Job Overview
Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments.
Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools.
Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials.
Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling.
Completes required documentation to record assessment and progress.
Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies.
May direct support staff in assisting with treatment.
Qualifications
Bachelor or master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
One year of experience as an occupational therapist.
Licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy and registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, either from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Licensure Process




Candidates must obtain their South Carolina license prior to their start date, as they cannot begin work without it.
The licensure process typically takes less than one month.
Once an offer is accepted, candidates are expected to initiate and complete the licensing process before their scheduled start date.
