Carrier Compliance Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Carrier Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for carrier vetting, carrier monitoring, and ensuring all carriers meet company standards and FMCSA/DOT compliance requirements before freight is booked.

The adecuado candidate understands the importance of minimizing risk, identifying fraudulent or high-risk carriers, and maintaining strong compliance processes within a fast-paced freight brokerage environment, including specialized and heavy haul transportation operations.

Responsibilities

- Perform carrier vetting and compliance reviews for both new and existing carriers
- Evaluate carrier profiles to ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, insurance, and internal company requirements
- Continuously monitor carrier performance, safety scores, authority status, insurance coverage, and operational history
- Identify high-risk, fraudulent, unsafe, or non-compliant carriers through detailed verification processes
- Investigate potential double brokering, identity theft, cargo theft, and other fraudulent carrier activity




- Approve or deny carriers for load booking based on compliance standards and risk assessment
- Provide booking approval support to Carrier Sales Representatives and Operations teams
- Maintain accurate carrier compliance records and update carrier profiles as needed
- Communicate with carriers to obtain required documentation and resolve compliance issues
- Ensure carriers remain compliant throughout the business relationship, not only during onboarding
- Support compliance processes for specialized freight operations, including heavy haul and oversize loads
- Stay updated on industry regulations, fraud trends, and compliance best practices

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in carrier compliance, freight brokerage, logistics operations, or carrier onboarding required
- Experience auditing carrier documentation and verifying certifications and profiles.
- Strong knowledge of carrier regulatory standards (FMCSA, OSHA, etc.) and DOT requirements, carrier vetting, fraud prevention procedures and internal policies.
- Familiarity with platforms such as MyCarrier Packets, Carrier411, and Highway is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment
- English proficiency required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across carrier compliance processes.
