Financial controller

Location: Montevideo, Uruguay Bogotá, Colombia
Reports To: Director of Finance

Job Overview

We are seeking highly skilled, strategic, and hands-on Controller to oversee financial operations in a dynamic, startup-like environment. The adecuado candidate balances strong financial expertise with the ability to lead thought leadership across the organization. This role requires a self-starter with a do-it-yourself mindset, capable of blazing new trails and creating innovative financial strategies that drive business growth and ensure financial integrity.

Responsibilities
- Execute daily bookkeeping, including accurate recording in general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Maintain accounting integrity through correct transaction coding and controls.
- Manage billing, collections, and monitor receivables with a proactive approach.
- Oversee payroll and employee expense reimbursements, ensuring policy compliance.
- Prepare timely, accurate financial statements and reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).




- Ensure adherence to GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Drive budgeting process and develop forward-looking financial forecasts.- Provide insightful variance analysis and recommendations strategic decision-making.
- Establish maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead coordination of internal and external audits.
- Oversee cash flow and working capital management with strategic optimization efforts.
- Act as a key financial thought leader, partnering across departments to influence business strategy and growth.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.-
