The Marketing Assistant will receive hands-on experience in planning and executing marketing strategies for our upcoming conferences. They will learn search engine optimization, keyword analytics, and other online marketing techniques.

The Marketing Assistant reviews changes to the marketplace and industry and adjusts the marketing plan accordingly.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Prospecting and researching relevant media companies that share our target market and establishing strategic marketing partnerships

- Assisting with E-mail and direct mail marketing campaigns

- Analyzing keywords that drive web traffic in order to optimize our website for search engines (SEO)

- Analyzing click-thru rates of banner ads and E-mail blast campaigns

- Conduct ongoing research within assigned area to further industry knowledge and develop potential new conference ideas

- Establish and maintain relationships with key professionals, industry leaders, senior executives and media partners within relevant financial markets

- Assist customers in a professional, service-oriented manner during the execution of daily work and onsite at conferences

- Research and provide to Marketing Department strategic information required to market conferences, including: detailed information on the target market both in terms of industry sectors and disciplines and geographic markets, relevant industry associations, industry publications, and competitive events

- Provide the Sales Department with strategic information on potential sponsorship opportunities. Work with and support a cross-functional team on an ongoing basis to ensure successful marketing and sponsorship of conferences.

- Proofread spelling and grammar of forms, e-mails, advertisements, and direct mail pieces

Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

- Bachelor's Degree

- Experience as a Marketing Assistant or Marketing Intern preferred

- Experience in Google Analytics and SEO is a plus!

- Ability to conduct in-depth research via telephone, in-person and using print and electronic media

- Excellent networking and information gathering abilities

- Good listening skills

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

- Ability to break down complex concepts, make logical comparisons and identify underlying patterns and connections

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with and relate to all levels both within and outside the organization

- Engaging, professional and diplomatic demeanor

- Customer service focus

- Superior oral and written communications skills in English 

- Time and priority management skills necessary to complete work within established timeframes

- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities

- Deadline and results-oriented

- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team

- Enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed

- Ability to analyze ideas from a financial and investment perspective

- Strong attention to detail
