[…]agro-industry food cosmetics wood tourismThe Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, through Colombia Productiva, opens the second call for the Green Productivity project, which will provide specialized technical assistance to 110 companies and training to 400 people to implement actions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change, and strengthening of value chains in bioeconomy.What is Green Productivity?Green Productivity is a project of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Colombia Productiva that seeks to reduce the vulnerability of the Colombian business fabric to the effects of climate change, while promoting the transition to a knowledge-based, productive and sustainable economy.The project will provide specialized training and technical assistance to strengthen the industrial sector's capabilities in climate change adaptation and mitigation actions, as well as the use of the bioeconomy as a factor of productivity and competitiveness.During the first phase of the project, which began in the first quarter of 2023,



120 companies were linked to receive technical assistance and 140 people were trained in topics related to bioeconomy and mitigation and adaptation to climate change.This new call for applications seeks to select 110 new companies and 400 more people.Objective of the call for applicationsSelect 110 companies to provide them with technical assistance in climate change mitigation (40 companies), climate change adaptation (55 companies) or bioeconomy (15 companies).In addition, 400 people will be selected to receive specialized training on bioeconomy topics and climate change mitigation and departments is the call for applications directed to?The call is national with emphasis on departments with the highest recorded deforestation, territories most affected by armed conflict and regions with greater vulnerability to climate risks.What types of companies can apply?Micro, small, medium and large companies from any interested industrial sector can apply for the project.However, if the number of applicants exceeds the participation quota, priority will be given to specific sectors with the greatest potential to generate results and benefits for businesses. In this regard, the prioritized sectors will be:Emphasis Priority sectors Adaptation Food and beverages, chemicals and wood, paper and cardboard processing. Mitigation Non-metallic minerals, brickmaking, steelmaking, carbon-intensive sectors such as plastics, auto parts, chemicals and food and beverages.
