Group Financial Reporting Manager
As Group Financial Reporting Manager, you will lead technical accounting matters under IFRS and US GAAP at the Group level, serve as the key accounting expert for complex transactions, and oversee policy interpretation and implementation of new standards to ensure consistency across Millicom Group and for consolidation purposes. You will also lead migrations on related systems for newly acquired operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Technical Accounting & IFRS / US GAAP Expertise – Serve as the IFRS/US GAAP expert and key point of contact throughout the Group for financial reporting matters, including IFRS 16 implementation and IFRS 15 business model application.
- Standards Implementation & Project Leadership – Own lease (Nakisa) and revenue (Tidemark) accounting tools, design and implement new configurations, lead annual IBR updates, manage new IFRS standards or policy implementations, and oversee migrations on lease and revenue systems.
- Accounting Policies & Compliance – Analyze and interpret IFRS, develop the group accounting manual,
advise on IFRS technical issues from ongoing business activities, apply proper IFRS accounting treatment, and develop IFRS capabilities across the group.
- Technical Documentation & Audit Coordination – Manage front‑key complex technical issues with auditors, present and validate key technical issues to obtain formal clearance, and own selected SOX controls related to financial reporting.
- Training & Capability Development – Design and deliver training programs, act as the internal expert for queries from finance teams across markets, and develop IFRS technical capabilities throughout the Group.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IFRS and US GAAP reporting.
- Experience in the Telecommunications or Media industry is a strong advantage.
- 5+ years of proven experience in project management.
- Background in a Big 4 audit
