Group Financial Reporting Manager

Role Purpose

Lead technical accounting matters under IFRS and US GAAP at the Group level, serving as the key accounting expert for complex and non‑routine transactions, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, acquisitions, spin‑offs, joint operations, earnouts, call options and segment reporting. Develop policy interpretations, implement new standards consistently across Millicom Group, and coordinate consolidation and system migrations.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Accounting & IFRS / US GAAP Expertise
- IFRS/US GAAP expert and key point of contact throughout the Group for financial reporting matters, specifically on IFRS 16 and IFRS 15 implementation topics.
- Manage the transition of Group IFRS consolidated financial statements to US GAAP.
- Issue position papers on IFRS interpretation and reporting implications for significant transactions.
- Prepare IFRS accounting entries and templates for complex transactions such as lease modifications, sales models, new acquisitions and segment reporting.





Standards Implementation & Project Leadership
- Business owner of lease (Nakisa) and revenue (Tidemark) accounting tools, designing and implementing new configurations to satisfy reporting needs.
- Annually lead the in‑house IBR update process.
- Lead migrations on lease and revenue systems for newly acquired operations.
- Manage new IFRS standards or policy implementations, integration projects, and adapt external advisors.
- Lead migrations for IFRS standard changes, acquisition‑related changes, and reporting system updates.

Accounting Policies & Compliance
- Analyze and interpret IFRS to set Millicom’s accounting policies.
- Maintain and develop the group accounting manual, ensuring adherence.
- Advise on IFRS technical issues arising from business activities and transactions across the organization.
