Panagora Group provides monitoring and evaluation services in the international development industry and currently implements the USAID/Colombia Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activity. The MEL activity provides technical and advisory services to USAID in the following components: (1) Monitoring; (2) Performance and Impact Assessments; (3) Research, Assessments, and Data Analysis; (4) Geographic Information Services (GIS) and (5) Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation tasks (CLA).
USAID/Colombia requested that the MEL activity measure, monitor, and generate information on the potential effect of different conservation approaches that Amazon Alive Activity is developing in the Colombian Amazon region. The information collected will enable the creation of decision‑making tools for the conservation management of biodiversity. The measurement for this study will be carried out in three geographic areas to be defined by USAID/Colombia.
This requires designing a methodology that includes different measurement scales and various intervals for the collection of information.
Based on the above, the MEL Activity requires the hiring of a bird expert to analyze the structure of bird communities and the state of their conservation. The expert will help to study the functionality of the trophic groups which provide valuable information on conservation strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design the methodology for data collection.
- Identify the limitations of the methodology and propose alternative solutions.
- Present and discuss the designed methodology with the team.
- Provide technical recommendations for the purchase of equipment or tools for data collection.
- Provide recommendations on the preparation of the fieldwork.
- Participate and lead the fieldwork.
