JOB SUMMARY: This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining comprehensive tax account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment between US GAAP books, local statutory books, and tax books. The idóneo candidate is an accountant with significant experience in tax reconciliation processes, tax accounting, and compliance readiness in Latin America.
Detailed Description
- Prepare US GAAP vs Local GAAP tax account reconciliations, identifying variances and ensuring proper documentation.
- Perform Local Statutory Book vs Tax Book reconciliations for LATAM legal entities.
- Maintain reconciliations for key tax balances in a monthly basis.
- Track and analyze reconciling items, ensuring timely resolution.
- Ensure all tax-related balances align with internal accounting policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors, internal audit, and statutory auditors during tax-related reviews.

- 5 years required, 7 years preferred of tax accounting experience.

- Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices and their application.
- Knowledge of pertinent tax laws, codes and regulations.
- Must be able to multi-task, work independently, be self-motivated and demonstrate strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong office and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Able to research and analyze a variety of information.
- Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Assemblyof dataand preparationof reports. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting Wesco’s tax compliance, audits, tax provision, and tax planning. You may also assist in reviewing the work of more junior staff.
