Supply Chain Specialist

Remote | Global Team | Supply Chain Department

At Source86, we're building the backbone of the integral food supply chain, helping our partners source, move, and deliver the world's best ingredients with clarity, speed, and service that actually feels human. We sweat the small stuff, act like true partners, and solve the “86 moments” in our customers' supply chains with transparency and precision.

Supply Chain Specialist: (Specialist Job Level)

? Remote | Global Team | Supply Chain Department

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will play a central role in keeping goods moving accurately and on time — from warehouse receipt through final delivery, with visibility across the full order-to-delivery lifecycle.

You will act as a central connection point between warehouses, transportation providers, inventory planning, procurement, and customer service, working cross-functionally to ensure inventory accuracy, order processing speed, and delivery performance.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong operational execution with attention to detail, process discipline, and a broad, systems-level view of how logistics connects to the rest of the supply chain — including the customer experience.

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

You'll be expected to

Manage day-to-day order processing, ensuring outbound and inbound orders are entered, confirmed, and released accurately and on time in the system.

Coordinate warehousing operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch across third-party and company-managed warehouses.

Track and process inventory movements and goods movements — receipts, transfers, adjustments, and returns — to keep stock records accurate and current.

Coordinate local deliveries and transportation, working with carriers, warehouses, and customers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.

Monitor inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

Track shipment and delivery status, proactively flagging delays, exceptions, or disruptions to internal stakeholders and customers.

Maintain accurate logistics data across systems and internal trackers, including order status, inventory levels, and delivery confirmations.

Prepare and maintain logistics reports and KPIs — on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory accuracy — to support visibility and decision-making.

Investigate logistics service issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical, sustainable solutions.

Support the development and continuous improvement of logistics SOPs and process documentation.

Coordinate closely with Customer Service, Procurement, and Planning to ensure inventory availability and delivery commitments are met, stepping in on direct customer communication when priorities call for it.

Maintain clear, proactive communication on order status, inventory availability, and shipment updates — internally and with customers as needed.

Support cross-functional projects and initiatives across the broader supply chain organization as priorities evolve.

Experience Required: 2-3+ years

Work Area: Logistics, Warehousing, Inventory Management, and Supply Chain Operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

At least two to three years of experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory management, order processing, or a related operational environment.

Experience processing orders, managing inventory movements,

and coordinating deliveries within an ERP or warehouse management system.

Strong understanding of warehousing operations, inventory control principles, and transportation and delivery coordination.

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate stock records, order data, and shipment documentation.

Analytical skills to interpret inventory, order, and delivery performance data, and to identify discrepancies or risks.

Strong problem-solving abilities, including root-cause analysis for delivery and inventory issues.

Clear, confident communication skills, comfortable engaging directly with customers or external partners when needed.

Comfortable wearing multiple hats and adapting to shifting priorities across the supply chain.

Strong accountability and follow-through, ensuring operational issues are tracked through to resolution.

Experience developing, following, or improving SOPs and standardized processes.

Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.

Comfortable working with ERP/WMS systems, spreadsheets, customer databases, and reporting tools.

Customer service or account management exposure is a plus.

? Remote Work & Contract Setup

Remote, global team — we're fully distributed and work across multiple time zones.

Contractor model, 40 hours per week, with overlap with U.S. and global customer hours and other team members.

We care about results, clear communication, and being good humans, not about you being online 24/7. We expect you to manage your energy, communicate boundaries, and act with ownership. If you want to grow your career, build broad supply chain expertise, and be part of a team that values progress, Ubuntu, and sweating the details, we'd love to meet you. At Source86, "86" means a problem that couldn't be solved. We've built our entire business around solving those problems.
