WSP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer – Hydro & Dams to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will lead the structural analysis, design, assessment, and rehabilitation of hydroelectric, dam, and water resources infrastructure projects. This role includes technical leadership throughout project phases, from feasibility studies and detailed engineering to construction support, dam safety assessments, and rehabilitation programs.

The adecuado candidate will have 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with significant involvement in hydroelectric facilities, dams, hydraulic structures, and major infrastructure projects. Due to the global nature of our projects, advanced English and French proficiency is required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the structural design, analysis, and assessment of dams, spillways, intake structures, powerhouses, penstocks, retaining structures, and related infrastructure.

Perform advanced analyses of reinforced concrete, steel, composite, and hydraulic structures.

Lead structural assessments, rehabilitation studies,



and asset management programs for hydroelectric and dam facilities.

Prepare and review engineering calculations, design criteria, technical specifications, reports, and construction documentation.

Conduct evaluations considering static, dynamic, seismic, hydraulic, thermal, and environmental loading conditions.

Support dam safety assessments, risk evaluations, and regulatory compliance activities.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, civil, hydrotechnical, electrical, mechanical, and environmental specialists.

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.

Participate in site inspections, construction reviews, and resolution of structural issues.

Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and construction methodologies.
