Job Description
The Medical Billing Verification Specialist ensures the accuracy of client medical billing and balances by verifying non-legal aspects of medical accounting. This role involves direct communication with medical providers, updating internal systems, and supporting attorneys and team members throughout the case lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities (Resumen)
- Verify medical accounting: confirm balances and billing accuracy with providers via email, fax, or phone.
- Update records: maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and case management systems with the latest information.
- Identify discrepancies:



report issues to Legal Assistants or Attorneys for resolution.
- Support attorneys and team members in verifying balances during case preparation, demand writing, and closing.
- Monitor third-party platforms (e.g., Chartswap) daily for updated billing inquiries.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation following the Smart Advocate checklist.

Requirements
- Legal Assistant, paralegal or legal field experience required
- English B2+ C1
- Proficiency with numbers and medical billing/accounting verification.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to navigate third-party websites.
- Experience with case management systems (Smart Advocate preferred).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
