Project Description
Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) is the United States Government’s flagship project for global health security. It aims to strengthen countries’ capacity across laboratory and surveillance systems to prevent, detect, and rapidly and effectively respond to emerging infectious diseases and other public health threats. STRIDES is a integral mechanism, a contract with a five-year (2024–2029) period of performance, led by FHI 360 as the prime, with core partners such as Black & Veatch focusing on biosecurity and biosafety and PATH on surveillance activities.

Job Summary:




The Senior Health Information Systems Officer will provide technical support to staff and project and will lead the design and implementation of activities focusing on enhancing health information systems for STRIDES Activity in Colombia. S/He will work towards strengthening surveillance and health data systems in close collaboration with government partners. This will include digitalization of surveillance data, increasing interoperability and data sharing across sectors, improving health data analytics and data visualization, geospatial mapping, and enhancing alert generation, among other aspects. She/he will collaborate closely with the project MEL Officer in the generation of health analytics to support STRIDES MEL reporting. S/He will work closely with the STRIDES project country and Headquarters (HQ) teams to coordinate on the technical aspects of surveillance and health informatics system activities.
