Cloud Engineer (Colombia – Remote, Supporting U.S. Clients)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Azure Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and eager to learn and work in a large, complex environment. This is a PowerShell heavy position requiring significant complexity in thought and approach in how to automate Azure infrastructure in PowerShell.
You will be working on an experienced, diverse, and highly effective team building and operating secure, compliant, and efficient hybrid cloud environments to empower hardware engineers to thrive. In collaboration with service owners, the team defines, discovers, tracks, and acts on development environments for our partner, a Fortune 50 company.
In the Azure Engineer role, you will be administering, documenting, and supporting complex cloud environments enabling Silicon and Hardware engineering simulation and analysis. You will be responsible for ensuring cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and evolve to meet the needs of the ever-changing IT and cloud echo system as part of a cloud engineering team. Automation is key for any complex infrastructure; you will develop and maintain the standards for cloud services implementation following defined procedures and Azure best-practices. In this role, you will work closely with integral IT and engineering teams both within AMS DataSerfs and our partner's staff.
You will work closely with U.S.-based stakeholders, requiring strong English communication skills and the ability to operate effectively across time zones.
Responsibilities
- Implement, manage, and monitor Azure resources, including compute, storage, networking, and identity services.
- Design, maintain,
and document PowerShell automation
- Deploy, scale, and manage virtual machines, containers, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and cost of cloud resources.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Assist in the migration of on-premises infrastructure to Azure.
- Maintain operational security by applying patches, monitoring compliance, and managing policies.
- Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for ongoing operations.
Required Qualifications - basic requirements to be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate credential.
- 4 years of professional experience in systems administration, cloud operations, and IT infrastructure.
- 2 years of professional experience automating systems with PowerShell.
- English proficiency, both written and verbal. IET/CEFR/Cambridge B2, TOEFL, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications - what we're looking for
- Strong experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM), monitoring tools, and automation.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, CLI, or Python).
- Familiarity with hybrid environments and integration between on-premises and cloud services.
- Knowledge of networking, security, and governance best practices in Azure.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale environments and supporting production workloads.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Bicep or Terraform.
- Exposure to DevOps pipelines and automation practices.
- Strong problem-solving,
troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Bonus Experiences - ways to stand out
- Experience with, knowledge of, or coursework in any of the following areas
- Writing SQL or KQL queries
- Supporting hardware or silicon engineering teams
- High-performance compute clusters
- DevOps systems and principals

Work Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Typical base pay for this role across Colombia is 6,000,000 to 12,000,000 cop per month, depending on experience and fitness to role.
