Senior Accountant (On-site) – Barranquilla, Colombia

Location: Barranquilla, Colombia (On-site)
Salary: Negotiable based on experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Contract Type: Obra o Labor for the first 6 months, with the possibility of continuing based on performance.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team in Barranquilla. The idóneo candidate has a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and is comfortable working with U.S.-based leadership in an international environment.

Responsibilities

- Manage the full accounting cycle.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Perform bank reconciliations and General Ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements and accounting reports.
- Manage treasury and cash flow activities.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations.
- Support internal controls, audits, and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with U.S.-based managers and cross-functional teams.
- Support accounting operations for the Colombian subsidiary when required.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including:
- Full-cycle accounting.
- Accounts Payable (AP).
- Accounts Receivable (AR).




- Bank and General Ledger reconciliations.
- Month-end and year-end close.
- Financial statement preparation.
- Treasury and cash management.
- Journal entries and account analysis.
- Internal controls and/or audit support.
- Experience with ERP accounting systems (QuickBooks is a plus).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- English proficiency at B1/B2 level or higher, with the ability to communicate effectively in meetings with U.S.-based managers.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualification

- Active Colombian CPA License (Tarjeta Profesional de Contador Público). This is highly preferred, as the selected candidate may support the review of the Colombian subsidiary's financial statements and assist with local tax-related matters.
