Linux Systems Administrator (Remote, Supporting U.S. Clients)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. The adecuado candidate is a self-starter and eager to learn and work in a large, complex environment.

You will be working on an experienced, diverse, and highly effective team building and operating secure, compliant, and efficient hybrid cloud environments to empower hardware engineers to thrive. In collaboration with service owners, the team defines, discovers, tracks, and acts on development environments for our partner, a Fortune 50 company.

In the Linux Systems Administrator role, you will be administering, supporting, and securing engineering-focused IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for following security best practices and evolving services based on the ever-changing IT security environment. Automation is key for any complex infrastructure; you will develop and maintain the necessary automation to administer Linux systems at scale. In this role, you will work closely with global IT and engineering teams both within AMS DataSerfs and our partner’s staff.

You will work closely with U.S.-based stakeholders, requiring strong English communication skills and the ability to operate effectively across time zones.

Job Description - what you'll do

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
- Escalation for front-line support for Linux servers and workstations in hardware development labs and data centers
- Handle daily administration of complex, large scale Linux-based engineering development environments following Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices
- Perform routine system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage storage, networking,



and virtualization in Linux environments.
- Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure compliance.
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, and other automation tools.
- Support system backups, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
- Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to support enterprise systems.
- Manage core services (DNS, NIC, Licenses, etc.)

Required Qualifications - basic requirements to be considered

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience or occupational training).
- 4 years of professional experience in Linux system administration.
- English proficiency, both written and verbal. IET/CEFR/Cambridge C1, TOEFL, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications - what we're looking for

- Strong knowledge of Linux command-line tools, system services, and process management.
- Experience with troubleshooting, patching, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, firewalls) in Linux environments.
- Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for task automation.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) credential.
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, or OpenShift.
- Knowledge of virtualization (KVM, VMware) and containerization (Docker, Podman).
- Familiarity with cloud integration (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in hybrid environments.
- Strong documentation and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Excellent organization driving the ability to handle a high-paced work environment

- Experience administering IaaS environments:



virtual storage with express routes, unstructured storage with an eye towards scale and security
- Experience with, knowledge of, or coursework in any of the following areas
- Writing SQL or KQL queries
- Supporting hardware or silicon engineering teams
- High-performance compute clusters
- Azure Infrastructure as a Service
- DevOps systems and principals
- Technical program management

Work Hours: 9 AM - 5:30 PM

Typical base pay for this role across 5,400,000 to 6,600,000 per month depending on experience and fit to role.
