Who we are
Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.
Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world.
But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained.
We're changing that.
Atoms builds Physical AI- real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport.
Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.
This work requires more than robotics.
It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate.
We don't just build machines in a lab.
We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.
We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders.
We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.
If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.
What You'll Do
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the evaluation, design, permitting, and execution of facility development projects across our growing portfolio.
As part of our vertically integrated engineering team, you will be responsible for assessing site feasibility, utility infrastructure, drainage systems, grading, ADA compliance, and external utility coordination.
This role is highly focused on existing-site evaluation and infrastructure strategy.
We are looking for engineers who can quickly assess site constraints, understand utility availability and capacity, and develop practical,

cost-effective solutions that support project schedules and operational requirements.
You will work closely with Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Geotechnical, Construction, Development, and Operations teams to ensure sites are designed for constructability, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational success.
Key Responsibilities
Perform site due diligence assessments for prospective and active development projects.
Investigate local permitting requirements, utility regulations, development standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
Evaluate existing utility infrastructure, including:
Domestic water
Fire water
Sanitary sewer
Storm drainage
Natural gas
Electrical service infrastructure
Coordinate with utility providers to determine service availability, capacities, connection requirements, and upgrade needs.
Develop utility connection strategies from public infrastructure to building connection points.
Design and coordinate:
Site utility systems
Grading and drainage plans
Stormwater management systems
Grease interceptor locations and site integration
Paving improvements
Curb and gutter systems
ADA access routes and site accessibility improvements
Develop stormwater management strategies, including:
SWPPP requirements
Low Impact Development (LID) measures
Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs)
Water quality requirements

Coordinate with Architectural and Plumbing teams to determine optimal locations for:
Grease interceptors
Utility entry points
Fire water services
Electrical service equipment
Water and gas connections
Coordinate with surveyors and geotechnical consultants to evaluate site conditions, access constraints, environmental concerns, and constructability challenges.
Produce schematic designs, permit drawings, and construction documents.
Support entitlement, permitting, bid review, and construction administration activities.
Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), utility agencies, and public works departments throughout project development.
Support value engineering efforts and identify opportunities to simplify site construction, reduce costs, and accelerate schedules.
Role Focus
Approximately: 25% Site due diligence and utility investigations
25% Civil design and basis-of-design development
30% Permitting, agency coordination, and consultant management
20% Research, standardization, and process improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
5-8 years of experience in civil engineering design, land development, infrastructure design, or site development projects.
Strong experience evaluating existing site infrastructure and utility systems.
Experience designing:
Utility services and connections
Stormwater drainage systems
Site grading and paving
ADA-compliant site improvements
Sanitary sewer systems
Utility relocation and upgrades
Strong understanding of:
Site development practices
