Purpose
The Training Specialist for the Collections unit is responsible for supporting resource management and overseeing training initiatives, ensuring alignment with IB's collections strategy and the bank's established policies.
Accountabilities
Act as a champion of a customer‐centric culture, strengthening client relationships and leveraging the Bank's enterprise‐wide relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Lead role‐specific, general, and mandatory training programs within the Collections Center.
Review training materials, coordinate training activities as required, and ensure their effective execution.
Work closely with the Collections Model Design team to ensure appropriate training is delivered to staff on new initiatives, processes, and strategies.
Conduct follow‐ups, prepare reports, and maintain up‐to‐date training records for all staff.
Ensure consistent and performance‐driven training aligned with business needs.
Propose internal initiatives to enhance the work environment and foster team integration, as well as social or community service activities for employees.
Continuously identify and propose improved ways of working, adapting training content, methodologies, and resources to meet current operational needs and company policies.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture, and how these should be incorporated into daily activities and decision‐making.
Execute responsibilities efficiently and effectively in alignment with Scotiabank's values, Code of Conduct, and General Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, compliance,
and effectiveness of daily business controls to manage operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, anti‐money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
Strong understanding of Retail and Small Business banking products and services, as well as Collections processes and systems.
Previous experience in training delivery and resource management within similar operational environments is preferred.
Familiarity with e‐learning methodologies, gamification, and virtual training environments, including the use of web‐based learning platforms.
Experience in designing and developing digital training materials for e‐learning solutions.
Excellent organizational and motivational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple complex situations in a fast‐paced daily operation.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Coaching mindset with the ability to guide employees toward effective solutions and performance improvement opportunities.
High level of adaptability and flexibility to perform successfully in dynamic and changing environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Trilingualproficiencyis a must(Englishand Frenchlevel B2 or higher).
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office‐based environment; non‐standard hours are a common occurrence.
Limited international travel may be required.
