About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks.
We provide integrated engineering and project management across the project lifecycle—from concept and design to construction, operations, decommissioning or repowering and life extension—helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
Role and responsibilities
Overview of the role: Owing to continued growth and high demand for our services in Europe, Africa and America, we are looking for a Renewables Project Manager to join our global energy team in Colombia.
You will lead the delivery of Wind / Solar PV and Hybrid Technical Advisory and Owners Engineer projects for clients worldwide, with a focus on the South American market.
Responsibilities include ensuring projects are adequately resourced, delivered on time and on budget, supporting the client to increase project value while reducing risks, coordinating internal and external resources, delivering reviews, budget and time adherence, client liaison, and internal reporting.
The role may involve bids for new work and participation on other advisory and OE projects as needed.
This is a permanent role with strong prospects for career development across various power generation technologies (wind, PV, CSP, BESS) in renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
Guide and manage due diligence projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to gather and analyse data
Conduct technical assessments of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, and other emerging technologies)
Evaluate project feasibility, design, and performance metrics
Identify and assess technical risks; develop mitigation strategies and provide client recommendations
Prepare detailed due diligence reports and provide actionable insights
Present findings to clients and stakeholders clearly and concisely
Serve as the primary client contact during due diligence projects; address client queries with expert technical guidance
Review projects for compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements; stay updated on changes
Collaborate with financial analysts to integrate technical findings into financial models and review models from a technical perspective
Provide technical input for investment decisions and risk assessments
Contribute to development and improvement of due diligence methodologies and tools
Participate in training and development to stay current with industry advancements
Work with other consultants and engineers to share knowledge and best practices
Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth
Conduct market research on new technologies and trends in renewables; support business development and strategic planning
Candidate specification
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) or related field; master's degree is preferable but not required
Experience in Project Management
Working knowledge of Wind/PV development, procurement and/or construction; experience in any European or South American country is a plus
Knowledge of relevant wind design codes and certification requirements
Familiarity with international and local standards, codes, and regulations
Proactivity and problem-solving attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Desirable:
Demonstrable experience of project management of other disciplines
APM Certification
Familiarity with modelling software such as Wasp, WindPro, or similar
Excellent IT skills (MS Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Self-motivation, initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving approach
Experience in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural engineering environment
Ability to produce and review technical reports for clients, with attention to detail
Ability to lead and present at meetings
