The Medical Education Manager supports the strategic and operational execution of professional training and education programs across Latin America. This role requires a strong understanding of the healthcare education environment, excellent project management capabilities, critical thinking, and sound judgment. The successful candidate will identify educational needs, develop and implement training initiatives, manage budgets, and measure program effectiveness to drive continuous learning and engagement among healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the healthcare education landscape, including industry trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Conduct annual needs assessments to identify educational gaps and recommend the use of existing or new resources for healthcare professional (HCP) education programs.
- Prepare and manage budgets aligned with business priorities and educational goals.
- Drive innovation in learning delivery through adult learning principles, educational best practices, and evidence-based approaches.
- Provide educational and clinical leadership within assigned product or therapeutic areas.
- Plan and execute educational meetings, customer events, workshops, labs, and other strategic learning initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, faculty members, key stakeholders, and commercial partners.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality educational programs that support learning objectives.
- Define target attendee profiles and learning objectives, ensuring alignment with program goals and participant selection criteria.
- Support educational grant processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify speakers, faculty members, and subject matter experts.
- Monitor industry developments, emerging evidence,
and market changes to identify educational opportunities and recommend new programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, and healthcare experts to remain current on industry trends and emerging educational needs.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Effectively communicate program performance, outcomes, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with internal and external partners.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Project Management certification or experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in medical education, training, marketing, communications, learning and development, or related fields.
- Experience within the healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical technology industries is preferred.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within high-performing teams.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail and execution.
- Demonstrated capability to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements related to educational activities.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
