Epic Patient Access, RTE & Referrals Analyst
Location: Medellin, Colombia
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Patient Access, RTE & Referrals Analyst to join our healthcare IT team. The adecuado candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing the Epic Patient Access suite, including Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) and Referrals. The candidate will work closely with patient access, registration, scheduling, revenue cycle, and clinical teams to streamline patient intake, insurance verification, referral management, and front-end revenue cycle processes.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and support the Epic Patient Access, RTE, and Referrals applications.
Gather, analyze, and document business and operational requirements from patient access, scheduling, and revenue cycle stakeholders.
Design, build, test, validate, and deploy Epic Patient Access enhancements and system changes.
Configure and support patient registration, insurance verification, eligibility checks, referral workflows, and authorization processes.
Support Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) transactions and troubleshoot payer connectivity and eligibility issues.
Build and maintain referral workflows, work queues, scheduling rules, and insurance-related configurations.
Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely production support.
Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and enhancement projects.
Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Develop and maintain build documentation, workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and support documentation.
Collaborate with other Epic application analysts to ensure seamless integration with Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other Epic modules.
Ensure all configurations comply with Epic best practices, healthcare regulations, and organizational governance standards.
Requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience with Epic Patient Access, Real-Time Eligibility (RTE), and Referrals.
Epic Patient Access Certification is mandatory.
Experience in Epic build, configuration, implementation, testing, and production support.
Strong understanding of patient registration, scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and front-end revenue cycle workflows.
Experience supporting integrated Epic applications.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Mandatory Requirements
Epic Patient Access Certification (Mandatory)
Minimum 3 years of relevant Epic Patient Access experience
Experience supporting RTE (Real-Time Eligibility) and Referrals
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in U.S. healthcare environments.
Knowledge of patient access, insurance verification, referral management, authorizations, and revenue cycle operations.
Experience integrating Patient Access with Epic Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other Epic applications.
Understanding of Epic implementation methodology and healthcare interoperability.
Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
