Position: Senior Civil Designer – (Bogotá, Colombia)

At Pond, we are seeking a Senior Civil Designer to join our growing Civil Engineering team in Bogotá, Colombia. This role will support a diverse portfolio of U.S.-based projects across the energy, industrial, federal, utility, and infrastructure markets. The adecuado candidate will have extensive experience developing complex civil design deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and producing high-quality construction documents that meet U.S. engineering standards.

The Senior Civil Designer will play a key role in preparing site development, grading, drainage, utility, and earthwork designs while mentoring junior designers and supporting engineers throughout all phases of project execution. This position requires strong technical proficiency in civil design software, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed civil engineering drawings and 3D models for site development, grading, drainage, utilities, access roads, and other civil infrastructure projects.

Prepare site layout plans, grading plans, drainage plans, erosion and sediment control plans, utility plans, profiles, and construction details.

Perform surface modeling, corridor modeling, earthwork calculations, and quantity takeoffs using Autodesk Civil 3D and related software.

Produce construction documents that comply with project requirements, client standards, and applicable U.S.



engineering codes and industry best practices.

Coordinate closely with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary teams including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Environmental, and Survey disciplines.

Assist in resolving design conflicts through interdisciplinary coordination and model reviews.

Review project deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company drafting standards.

Support project planning by estimating drafting effort, managing assigned tasks, and meeting project schedules and deadlines.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafters.

Participate in design reviews and implement comments from engineering and client review cycles.

Continuously improve design processes and contribute to the development of drafting standards and best practices.

Education and Experience

Technical degree, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related discipline.

More than 8 years of experience in civil design supporting industrial, energy, utility, infrastructure, or site development projects.

Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D is required.





Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is required.

Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS or ArcMap), InfraWorks, or similar civil engineering tools is preferred.

Strong understanding of grading, drainage, earthwork, utility layouts, roadway geometry, and site development principles.

Experience preparing construction drawings in accordance with U.S. engineering standards is highly preferred.

Ability to interpret engineering calculations and translate engineering concepts into detailed design documents.

Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required to effectively collaborate with U.S.-based engineering teams and clients.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
